This week on Weekly News, we have: an update on Ted and Ellie’s Christmas, Making New Year’s resolutions and some amazing new riddles! First, Ted and Ellie’s Christmas! On the 25th of December, Ted and Ellie excitedly opened their presents, devoured loads of Christmas treats, Ted eating an especially large amount of chocolate and saving only a few for Jack, and they played lots of games together as well as turning on the lights on the Christmas tree.
Now, me and Ted are taking over this post, and we want to know all about your Christmas! Tell us in the comments! Moving on, we have recently been starting to make up some new year resolutions. This is when you think about what you could improve on next year, such as practicing something you enjoy like drawing or playing a musical instrument. It could also be eating healthier or, similarly to Jack’s, being less naughty! I have decided to practise riding my bike more often because I have not managed to find much time for it at the moment. Ted says he will try to eat less ice cream, especially Hägen Dazs. Jack says…. well, Jack says he’ll try to be more naughty, but that isn’t the best example.
Finally, here are some fantastically fiendish riddles for you to solve:
1) There is a mysterious mirror inside a classroom at a school. Rumours say that if you look directly in the mirror at 7:44 you will die immediately. However, three girls from the school decided to test the rumour, and looked in the mirror together at 7:44. Fortunately, they survived. Later, another girl stepped in front of the mirror at 4: 16, and was never seen again. How did this happen?
Answer: 4:16 reflected in the mirror is 7:44.
2) Joe was murdered in his house the night before Halloween. Three suspects were questioned. Susie said: I was decorating the house. Bob said: I was preparing the sweets and candies. Mia said: I was trick or treating! Lucy said: I was planning the party! Immediately the murderer was arrested. Who commited the crime?
Answer: Mia. It was the night before Halloween.
3) Imagine you are locked in a room that is quickly filling up with water. Soon, dangerous crocodiles and sharks will enter the room as well. There is no possible way to escape the room. How do you survive.
Answer: Do nothing. You are imagining it all.
