On HONK, we’ve talked about how you can help the environment, but what about learning the actual dangers that thing like plastic, pollution and rainforest fires are presenting.
Here are a few:
Firstly, plastic is what we call non biodegradable, which means it can’t break down and dissolve into smaller particles. Therefore, it is consumed by sea creatures, as well as trapping them, which can poison them due tonplastic harmful chemicals. Also, people eat fish, therefore consuming the particles of plastic that that fish has died from, which can be dangerous.
Secondly, we have to talk about pollution. Pollution is contributing massively to global warming, which is when the earth heats up more than it can handle. When global warming happens, it can melt the habitats of artic species and the sea levels will rise, flooding many more habitats and homes.
Finally, deforestation is caused by people wanting more wood to build things with as well as using it to make paper and other supplies. Also, the land is used for farming for consumer’s food. It destroys so many habitats every minute that soon there will be nothing left of it at all, and many many species will have become extinct.
Now you have learnt about these dangers, hopefully you can spread awareness and raise the urgency levels of this problem.
